Event : Draft Training Module of ICC and Rome Statute

Lalitpur/September 12 , INSEC has held a consultation meeting on draft training module of International Criminal Court and Rome Statute with the stakeholders on September 12.

Speaking at the program, INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel expressed hope that the discussion on the draft training module would facilitate in making a comprehensive advocacy tool.

He said, “National Human Rights Commission should also participate in the activities related to International Criminal Court and Rome Statute”.

The training module, designed for the three-day training is comprised of sessions on introduction of ICC, structure of the ICC, jurisdiction, process, genocide, war crimes, crime against humanity and relevance of ICC in Nepal.

Commenting on the module, Nepal Bar Association vice-president Tikaram Bhattarai said that the issues of constitution making process could be inducted in the training module.

Many attendants said that the relevance of ICC in Nepal should be well explained to the activists, politicians along with people interested in ICC.
