Ratification Progress

On July 2006, the House of Representatives of Nepal issued a directive for accession to the Rome Statute. Since then, there was little progress toward Nepali accession to the Statute until 11 February 2009 when the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Upendra Yadav tabled ICC accession motion to the Cabinet. Today is the completion of four years of unanimous direction adopted.

Nepal Campaign on the International Criminal Court (NCICC )have been continuously working since November 2001 aiming the ratification of Rome Statute by Nepal Government by  raising awareness among the people, media, NGOs, political parties and other stake holders and engaging with the government and parliamentarians to take immediate decision to accede the Statute.

The campaign also aims at establishing cooperation with the international initiatives for the accession to ICC by Nepal Government.
